There are many famous food around the world. In short, pasta for Italy, fish and chips for United Kingdom, Kimchi for South Korea, curry for India, Sushi for Japan…Do you have local confection in your country? When you travel or visit to somewhere in your country, do you buy something famous food for your family and friends and give it to them? I usually buy some confection in that case. If I bought some ornament or cloth to my acquaintances and if they doesn’t like it, how should I do? Every human eat some foods or confections so that I tend to give them something to eat for souvenir.

I’d like to share some Japanese regional sweets today! There are so fantastic food in Japan not only Sushi, Sukiyaki but also sweeeeeets!! I love confection so much!

There are 47 prefectures in Japan and each prefecture has famous area food.
For the first I would like to share “Shiroi koibito”. If I translate it literally in Japanese I should say ” a white lover”…but I don’t think it is true. When I was young, I used to stay in Hokkaido for over twenty years so that I do understand winter of Hokkaido and snow of Hokkaido of course I have eaten this confection so many times and I love it so much. Therefore I strongly would like to say this confection’s name means “The winter memory”. Should I get scolded from the company sells this sweet?
I’m gonna share the origin of the name of Shiroi Koibito.
” It getting snowing one December. When the founder came back from skiing, he saw the falling snow and he said “our lovers are coming form the sky.”
This confection made from this word. How romantic is it!!
As you look at this, Shiroi koibito puts a piece of white chocolate between langue du chat. The slice of white chocolate and laungue du chat are easy to break so that you need to take care of them softly and carefully like someone you love. This is like “Shiroi koibito”.
In addition, “Shiroi” means white absolutely white. What do you call back when you hear “white”? I certainly remember snow in order to my hometown. When I came back from school, I was walking on the snow trail because of so much snow, it was difficult to walk and I was thinking of the happening of that day …it was a hard and sweet memory of me because I experienced a lot of things that felt happy, excited, heart warmed, sad more and more in the school.
When I was walking on the street with my boyfriend in the middle of winter that was so cold and lot’s of snow, he hadn’t put in his gloves because he wanted to hold my hand directly though his hands were freeze and I noticed his gloves were in his pocket…it’s a white memory.
According to these memory, I would like to say “The Winter Memory” for “Shiroi koibito(白い恋人).
Of course the tastes excellent! It’s sweet but not too much. It’s soft but not too much. You can try it!

We have ” Tokyo Banana 東京ばな奈 見ぃつけたっ”.
It’s a famous confection of Tokyo. You may know it. Almost every Japanese people know it and tastes like a chiffon cake including some banana cream in it.

Have you heard “Toorimon”? It’s a local sweet in Fukuoka prefecture. Fukuoka is famous for pork born ramen and salted cod roe it seasoned Alaska pollack.
However I recommend you “Toorimon” it looks traditional manjyu but it’s absolutely not. It contains some sweet white bean paste and smells like a huge butter!! I feel hungry so much. It is just yummy! You have to taste it someday!

I have been writhing too long today about Japanese fantastic confections because I love sweet so much!! I am going to share about some Japanese sweets more the other day. I’m waiting for your information of the food and culture in your country! I wanna eat some worldwide sweets…

See you next time!
