It’s getting cold recently here. It’s autumn!!
How is the weather in your country?
I can hear the sound of autumn insects and can see the beautiful autumn leaves in autumn. Many Japanese people go to see the trees which the leaves turned red and yellow in fall. It’s so beautiful. We go to see the cherry blossoms in spring and the autumn leaves now. We love trees don’t we? hahah
In Japan, people say that autumn is the best for reading, sports and art. Do you have “Autumn Appetite” in you country? There are so many delicious food in autumn for example squash, sweet potato, pear, persimmon, pacific saury, sermon and more and more.
Of course a chestnut is strongly yummy in autumn and I love it!

I bought some sweet roasted chestnuts today.

How do you eat chestnut in your country? I certainly eat a chestnut cake, tarte and Mont Blanc like sweets and I steamed the chestnuts with rice. It’s good however my favorite recipe is just sweet roasted chestnut! Have you eaten them before? Is it common in the world? Anyway I have cooked the sweet roasted chestnuts before in the oven but it was too hard and taste was not good. That is to say it’s difficult to cook it at home…I found the sweet roasted chestnuts which were just roasted in the supermarket by good fortune and I bought them of course!! It was sooo delicious that is flaky not crispy not dried how can I put into words…it was sweet and Yummy!! I ate almost 10 chestnuts for lunch.

It was easy to peel the husk of the sweet roasted chestnut. You just take the husk softly and open them aside because the husk has be cut already in order to eat easily. You can buy hot them in the supermarket it’s important. There’s nothing better than eating it’s still hot. I have to buy them again if I find them in the supermarket.

I would like to share about Roast Sweet Potato. Do you eat it in your country? It’s easier to cook than the roast chestnut, you roll a sweet potato in a wet kitchen paper and an aluminum foil and you bake them in the oven. It taste sticky and sweet. Two textures of sweet potato are in fashion right now in Japan. Sticky roast sweet potato or flaky roast sweet potato. People have been eating the flaky one since the old days here however the sticky one have come recently. Which one do you prefer? I like sticky roast sweet potato, it depends on the inclination. I often cook it when I have the BBQ, I put the rolled sweet potato in the wet paper and foil by the charcoal, it will be baked when I finished BBQ so the roast sweet potato is for dessert!

By the way kids go on the picnic to dig some sweet potato in this season for the event of kindergarten so there are so many sweet potato in my house recently. How can I cook them. Can you tell me your recommend recipe of sweet potato?
