Many kinds of ice creams are sold at the supermarkets these days because it’s getting hot now.
I am going to share a typical Japanese ice cream called Monaka ice cream, especially ” DESSERT MONAK Setouchi Lemon Tart” by Chateraise.

Monaka is one of a Japanese confectionery that puts some red bean paste or rice cake between two dry crispy wafers. Recently the inside of Monaka is not only the typical Japanese fillings but also ice cream, chocolates, some kind of cream and more.
In this “Lemon Tarte Dessert Monaka” has three layers are inside that the bottom is crunchy white chocolate. Some lemon custard ice crem with some roasted almond and cream cheese ice cream are on the chocolate layer. Furthermore some sauce of lemon peels are in it that lemon is grown in Setouchi where is famous for Lemon in Japan. You can enjoy some crispy texture thanks to the white chocolate bar inside.

Usually Monaka doesn’t have so much taste however Monaka works very well that your teeth are not sensitive even if you bite the cold ice cream because the monaka can be the wall between your teeth and cold ice cream. In addition you can keep your hands clean because the monaka works like a slice of bread of a sandwich. Certainly monaka goes well with fillings, it’s like an ice cream cone but it’s moister.

Thanks to some sprits are on monaka as you can see the photo, it’s easy to cut by hand and you can hold back some for later if it’s enough.

There are so many kinds of Monaka ice cream in Japan not only Lemon flavor but also vanilla ice crem with a chocolate bar or vanilla ice cream with red bean paste and more. Of course you can enjoy traditional monaka confectioneries here!
