A Happy New Year.
What do you do on your new year vacation in your country?
Do you eat something special?
I went back to my home town on this vacation after a long time. In my case, my home town is quite far so that it’s difficult to meet my family because I move a lot for my husband’s job.
Some Japanese company let their employee transfer to other area many times and it happens well. My husband have been transferred many times as well. We moved once every three years. It called “Tenkin-zoku” 転勤族. Is it common in your country?
Because a lot of moving, my kids changed schools and kindergartens three times and they had to make friends each areas…

Anyway it’s a lot of snow in the north of Japan but my town doesn’t have any snow. Japan has four seasons and each area has different weathers because Japan is narrow east to west and long north to south.
My hometown is in north of Japan and it was so much snow in this vacation!

You can enjoy winter sports there. My kids played ski and sledding! It has a very famous snow festival in every February for about one week that there are many huge snow statues and some shops. You can drink hot non-alcohol sweet rice drink called “Amazake 甘酒” and hot chocolate there and it’s so delicious!!

Do you get transferred a lot in your country? Do you move with all of your family?

If you visit Japan, you have chance to enjoy Japanese winter season!

See you next time!
