Welcome to my blog!
Here, I share real Japanese culture, food, daily life, manga, fashion, travel tips, and more.
There’s a huge amount of “Japanese information” around the world—on TV, in magazines, and in manga—but many of them are exaggerated or far from what we experience every day.
If you read this blog before visiting Japan, you won’t be confused by stereotypes or outdated information.
For example:
- Do Japanese people eat sushi every day?
- Do we watch sumo every day?
- Do we take long baths every single night?
Actually… no, we don’t!
Here, you’ll get fun, realistic, and honest insights into Japan.

I write helpful articles for travelers, such as:
- How Japanese people really spend their days
- Local food recommendations
- Hidden sightseeing spots
- Cultural tips that make your trip smoother and more enjoyable
Besides that, I also love sharing about Japanese entertainment—from manga and TV shows to Japanese idols. I’m a big fan of Snow Man!
And I’m also interested in healthy meals, sports, and Japanese voice actors—especially Yuuichiro Umehara (梅原裕一郎).
Of course, I love alcohol too: beer, wine, sake, and shochu.
I’m a Japanese woman living in western Japan with my husband and two lovely kids.
My hometown gets a lot of snow in winter, and it’s freezing!
I used to live in Canada and New Zealand, so I write this blog in English—my English may not be perfect, but I do my best so you can enjoy my easygoing blog about real life in Japan.
I hope my blog helps you discover Japan and makes your trip even better.
Enjoy exploring real Japan with me!
