Japanese Breakfast

スポンサーリンク

What do you eat for breakfast? Do you eat breakfast everyday? When my kids go to school, they tell me that they feel hungry before lunch time. They go to school by foot and it takes 10 minutes from my house to the school so they are hungry. That’s why I prepare heavy breakfast every weekdays.
Usually I cook miso soup for dinner and it will be some left. In the morning I put some steamed rice and egg on the hot miso soup left. We call it “Omisoshiru Gohan お味噌汁ご飯”. It’s yummy and easy to cook even in the busy morning.
In addition I prepare some fruit, yogurt and something to drink, usually a cup of milk. I understand a yogurt and milk does not match to rice and miso soup…

I would like to know the real breakfast around the world! I ate some breakfast in a hotel when I stay foreign countries, it’s not a real local breakfast is it? In case of Japan, when you stay Japanese hotel, you eat some gorgeous breakfast like steamed rice, miso soup, seaweed, Onsen tamago温泉卵 which is a boiled egg cooked in a hot spring, a baked fish and some vegetables. However I don’t eat that breakfast at home because it’s hard to prepare them in the early morning and you need to wash up so many dishes. Can you imagine it? Of cause some Japanese people may eat that kind of breakfast every morning, but many Japanese people may not.
When I was a student, my mother prepared me a bowlful of rice and some sausages every morning. I ate them while looking at my mother prepares a lunch box for me in the morning. She cooked lunch box everyday for me for several years…thank you mummy so much. My father and mother live far off and I haven’t see them for about one year because of COVID19 world. I need to take the airplane to go to my hometown so I’m afraid to take it recently.
Do you go back to hometown with frequency? Do you live with your parents? In Japan, we tend to live away from our parents after getting married. I go back to my hometown twice a year in a long holiday.

I shared about Japanese breakfast and homecoming today. Did you enjoy it? I will share some Japanese real lifestyle more!

See you next time!
