Kirin Ichiban

Suntory, Asahi, Sapporo and Kirin are well known for Japanese beer companies these days. Of course there are many great craft beer breweries here as well. Among the great beer companies, KIRIN has a unique beer. It’s KIRIN Ichiban.
Have you ever had KIRIN Ichiban? The most feature point of it is the brewed method. It’s used 100% malt and used only the first press brewed! It tastes smooth and rich. It’s not too much dry and so much smooth! It goes well with any Japanese foods.
KIRIN has launched a new type of KIRIN Ichiban in April 2025. It’s White.

White

White is brewed from only the first press of genuine malt for a crisp, delicious flavor. (It’s printed on the can of White KIRIN BEER.) It’s very easy to drink and smoother than Ichiban. In addition, it’s more fruity and lighter than Ichiban. It has a little banana-like aroma.
White contains a portion of wheat malt so that it’s so smooth and light.

Summary

Let’s enjoy both Ichiban and White! Both are brewed with first press but tastes different! KIRIN Ichiban is very Japanese-ish beer. If you can, I truly recommend enjoying Kirin Ichiban at a restaurant. Restaurants serve you a taped Ichiban, it is the best!
