People say that Japanese people are punctual, very reserved and hardworking. How do you think of them? Are they true?

Japanese father had to work hard
After the World War Ⅱ, Japanese people need to work so much hard to regain prosperity. It’s called Japan’s post war economic miracle. Japan’s rapid economic growth period lasted from the 1950s to around the 1970s. So, Japanese people in their 50s to 70s has been working so hard. According to them, younger working people than them need to work hard. Because the super working people are bosses in companies, other stuff member cannot help doing his work so much hard like the bosses.
Real Japanese father
I share my husband’s working schedule. It’s insane but this is a Real Japan.

He works at home two days a week and works at an office three times a week. He has Saturday and Sunday off, but he sometimes works weekends too. He goes on a business trip four or five times a month. He stays at a hotel at the business trip time.
Time schedule
In case of working at home, he starts to work from 8:30 AM. During the working time, he is taking a seat in front of PC and doing a meeting. At just noon he comes out from his room to have lunch that I cooked and 12:15 he goes back to his room to work again. He works online all day long. Just 7pm he comes to a living room to have dinner with family and takes a little bit break. During the break time, he texts message on company cell phone. At 9pm he goes to his room to work again, and he works till 1AM.
During the break time and day off
If he can take a break, his co-workers and clients call him or text message. Even he in on a trip with me in his day off, they call him and text message, and he needs to deal with them.
Summary
How is your country? I’ve heard that some country work longer than Japan because some other country’s people have side business. I guess Japanese company are distinct and too punctual. You never see that Japanese clerks are on their phone even if no customers are there and they are bored in Japan. This is Japan.
