What kind of sushi do you usually eat in your country? Everyone know that sushi is one of the Japanese foods. However, sushi transforms its chape depends on countries such as California roll. I’ve heard that Europeans and Americans don’t like dried seaweed and fresh seafood like sashimi. So, California roll became famous in US and Europe.
Japanese sushi
Japanese people don’t eat California roll so much in Japan because there are so many other kinds of sushi here. Actually, almost all of sushi ingredients are fresh sea food. A lot of fresh fish are caught thanks to its surrounding seas. Japan is an island nation so that people has been eating fish from long time ago.
We have “nigiri sushi”, “battleship sushi”, “hand rolled sushi”, “chirashi sushi” and more.

The most popular sushi is “nigiri sushi”. It’s a bite-sized sushi that is a rice pressed by hands and topped with a thick slice fresh seafood. Wasabi that is a Japanese spicy condiment is between rice and a slice sea food. Sushi is usually eaten after dipping in soy sauce.

Conveyor belt sushi is casual sushi restaurants. There are many conveyor belt sushi restaurants throughout Japan. It’s fun and reasonable. The ingredients are shifted depends on the seasons.
One of the popular conveyor belt sushi restaurants is Sushiro. Let me share some of sushi from sushiro.

The picture above is a raw crab meat seasoned with spicy sauce and some condiments on it. It’s so much fresh and melty! It smells real ocean!

This is Nakaochi. It’s scrap tuna meat. The meat is near the bone. It tastes mild and rich. The taste is different from normal tuna meat. Usually scrap tuna meat is eaten for battleship sushi. It’s a kind of sushi that rice around side is wrapped with dried seaweed and ingredients on top. The ingredients are easy to spill like roe, natto or Nakaochi. It’s named for its shape, it looks like battleship. It is also called Gunkan.
Sushiro serves Nakaochi for hand rolled sushi style. Rice ball and Nakaochi is on a piece of dried seaweed. When you have it, you wrap the rice and the topping with the dried seaweed by your hands and dip it in soy sauce before eating. It’s rich but too oily. It’s really delicious!
