Spring is just around the corner in Japan! What do you do in your country in spring? There are so many events in Japanese spring!
Spring in Japan
According to the calendar, spring lasts from early February to early May in Japan. But it’s still cold in February here. Actually, it’s getting warm from March. In Japan, graduation ceremonies are held in March and school admission ceremonies are held in April. Cherry blossoms start blooming from March and the cherry blossoms gets full bloom in April. It’s so beautiful and really touched to your heart. Throughout Japan, beautiful cherry blossoms bloom beautifully.
Japanese people enjoy the cherry blossoms to hold a party under the cherry blossoms. They eat boxed meal and drink beers there while watching the cherry blossoms. It’s called Hanami 花見 in Japanese.
Strawberry picking
Around spring season, supermarkets start to sell strawberries here. And some strawberry farms open their farm to pick people up the strawberries for fun! Do you have strawberry picking farm in your country? I have no idea for strawberry picking in other country’s but let me share Japanese one.
Japanese Strawberry picking
First, you need to have a booking for strawberry picking by phone or their homepage. One farm has several kinds of strawberries, and you can pick strawberry up as much as you want during the time. It’s usually for about 40 minutes. Be careful! Please pick up only what you can eat and don’t waste anything. And throw the strawberry’s stems in the trash. Japanese strawberry farm is very clean and also the strawberries are extremely clean.
When you pick it up, just touch gently and pick it up softly. The strawberry is quite soft so that it’s easy to be squeezed. It’s not to be washed in the water it’s safe and clean! A beautiful red strawberry is so delicious and sweet! It looks like a Jewry.
