Sapporo sells limited beers regularly, one of them is Sakura Beer. It looks very good-old Japanese-ish.
Sakura beer has been enjoyed in Japan from 1913 to about 1942. It was popular and sold in other Asian countries.
Brewers from Sapporo read literatures at that time and arranged the taste of beer to the contemporary taste. It is the Sakura beer now.
The taste of Sakura beer
Sakura beer is a lager beer. It contains malt, hop and rice. It smells a little sweet and looks rich gold. The foam on top is smooth and fine, Japanese beer’s foam is also smooth like Sakura beer. It tastes rich but the after taste is refreshing. Thanks to the rice, the aftertaste is really quite light.
