Beautiful autumn leaves season in Japan

What is your country’s season in December? Japan is narrow west to east and long north to south so that the temperatures, seasons even cultures are difeerent depends on the area.

December in Japan

There are christmas lights everywhere in the city and you can hear the christmas songs everywhere in the city. Restaurnts have a lot of resavations for christmas dinner. There is a trend for Japanese to spend a christmas time with your boyfriend or girlfriend not with your family. Of course if you have kids or don’t have a partner, you have a great christmas time with your family! However the Japanese christmas time is just untill 25th of December.
From 26th of December, the city is completely changed for a new year lights and displays. Quickly changes to the Japanese style for a new year.

Autumn leaves season in Tokyo and Osaka

The autumn leaves season usually starts from October in Tokyo and Osaka. But it started from November in 2024 because the weather was still hot in October and it has still continued in December.
Maple tree or cherry blossom tree are turned red in autumn, ginkgo tree or poplar tree are tuned yellow. There are many Japanese cedar trees here, they are not changed colors so much. So you can see red, yeallow and green trees at the same place in Japn in autumn. It’s beautiful!

Sapporo in December

Sapporo is a big city located in north of Japan. It snows so much in December. The trees have snow hats instead of the leaves. The white snow spread out as far as eye can see. People who live in Sapporo need to shovel snow twice a day. It’s hard but the snow is beautiful. It’s warm inside the house, it’s so cold outside though.

Summary

Japan is long south to north, even Osaka and Sapporo has a different season. It takes just about two hours by airplain. You can hang the laundry outside throughout the year if it’s sunny in Osaka. However you need to hang the laundry inside the house during winter in Sapporo because it’s too cold and it snows. Sapporo has many delicious foods and beautifuld landscapes! It depends!!
